A concept based on Arna Comet 350. The upper part above the waist line use the similar construction, but lifted 300mm to create a high tourist bus with large loading capacity. A new front and rear end was designed to distinguish it from the Comet series.

The V:ROOM is a design concept from 2001. Originally it was designed for the design competition The Modern Journey, but I never had time to contribute. Two years later I started working on the much smaller TH!NK public. A lot of design ideas was carried over from this concept like the wheels in the corners, the tall inner height and vertical appearance , the large glass areas, the steep front windshield, the curved roof, the sliding doors on one side etc. These ideas was somehow inspired by the work I did for the Taxi 2000 project in 1985.

A taxi concept for year 2000, designed early 1985. With raised roof, double sliding doors and seats for six passengers it should be easier to enter and be more flexible than using a standard sedan. The length and width was similar if not shorter than a sedan. The concept was one of three alternatives evaluated for my diploma work when studying automotive engineering at NKI.

Designed in 1985 when I studied automotive engineering. The concept was based on the newly introduced E-class. With similar wheelbase and total length, but with raised roof height, it could package three seat rows and a total of 7-8 people. The car was called Mercedes R where R stands for Raum or Room. The plan was to do my diploma work togetherwith Mercedes, but timing limits made me choose bus construction with Arna instead.
Twenty years later, in 2005, Mercedes put the R-class in production, with 3 seat rows, a lifted roof and a lot of room.

In early 1979 the norwegian car magazine Bil invited their readers to design the car of the 90's. The winner would get his proposal built and displayed at the forthcoming international car show in Oslo October 1979. I was 16 years old and sent in a proposal for a concept with raised seating position and roof height. It had rear sliding doors and no B-pillar for easy ingress/regress. 4 years later Nissan Prairie was inrtoduced with a similar solution. I did not win, but got my concept displayed at the autoshow.
